When the mountain changed its clothing

Heiner Goebbels & Carmina Slovenica | Germany

Heiner Goebbels and the Vocal Theatre Carmina Slovenica – a choir of 40 female singers aged from 10 to 20 – have joined forces to produce a wonderful musical theatre performance. The young Slovenian singers move their way through the decades and sing about an uncertain future. The result is a collage of fascinating images, texts and music. Folk songs, compositions by Heiner Goebbels, partisan songs from the Tito era and pop songs are portrayed by the young women with unbelievable choreographic and musical precision. The performers confront us with stories and questions about letting go of their childhood while reflecting on the rapid political and social changes in their region.
