Budapest in the 1980s. The story takes place in one of the dancehalls where Hungarian folk music was rediscovered and celebrated at this time. People mingle, joke and flirt with each other, secrets are exchanged in whispers. The cheerful mood is overshadowed by a climate of distrust, fear and oppression. A tape recorder turns slowly in the background recording every single word. Béla Pintér, currently one of the most influential playwrights, actors and directors of the free Hungarian scene, and his exceptional theatre and music ensemble take a scathing trip through Hungary’s past and present.
