The utopias of 1968 – Woodstock, Simon & Garfunkel, dreams of peace, love and a better world. Alvis Hermanis, an amazing director from Riga, and the extraordinary ensemble of the New Riga Theatre turn the clock back forty years and show the old performers from the celebrated stage success “Long Life” when they were young and lived in their Eastern Bloc flat shares in Soviet-era Latvia. A piece without words with music by Simon & Garfunkel.

«This staging is about youth, about lost innocence. Also about a very special time that we had at the end of sixties, when people were still united by the illusion of a collective happiness. It is very likely that this was the last collective utopia in the history of white people civilisation. Because nowadays collective utopia is possible only in the theory of arts. For instance, in the theatre.» (Alvis Hermanis)
