She has attained cult status and is a global icon of contemporary Canadian dance: Louise Lecavalier, one of the most brilliant dancers of our age. Accompanied by the electronic beats of Turkish DJ and musician Mercan Dede, Lecavalier’s piece “So Blue” is a thrilling, high-energy choreography. Initially dancing alone on a bare stage, she is later joined by fellow dancer Frédéric Tavernini in a breathtaking performance of pure energy, extreme speed, perfect body control, mastery and discipline.
Lecavalier’s past is extraordinary: between 1981 and 1999 she danced in every production of the world-renowned company La La La Human Steps and became a star on account of her uniquely virtuoso dance technique and captivating stage presence. Unforgettable are also her collaborations with David Bowie, Frank Zappa and the Ensemble Modern.
