Sans objet

Compagnie 111 – Aurélien Bory | France

In the spectacular performance “Sans objet”, director Aurélien Bory shows how a two ton welding robot can use its skills in dance. Thanks to its many joints the robot is able to reach nearly any point in space – a capacity that made it in the 1970s a model worker in the automobile industry. This machine with six joints seems to be outfitted with human characteristics, turning and spinning about in a friendly or frightening fashion, and dances a new unprecedented pas de trois with Olivier Alenda and Olivier Boyer.
